Haven’t broached to my parents that I resign Investment Bank at the end of this month yet.
Being an analyst at HF is gonna be my next role but i am afraid they cannot understand how it is.
How should I broach this and explain this in a positive way?

So coming up to my 3 years at UK KPMG Audit, and I got an offer from a food delivery tech company (think Ubereats, Deliveroo, Doordash etc) for a performance analyst type role which monitors/reports metrics for the Operations.

I'm interested in tech and thought this was a possible to foot in the door for future financial roles in tech.

Was wondering if anyone has thoughts on such roles or...is it a dead end approach.

I'm interviewing for Sr Analyst @ McK in a few days. One of the interviews is a Technical Exp Assessment, which I was told was to be a convo about my excel exp. Anyone know what kind of stuff they'll ask or have any experience going through experienced hiring at McK?

I've done my post-graduation in management from a tier 2 B-school (IMT, TAPMI, IMI, KJSOM and the like). Majored in marketing with some operations subjects. I'm currently working as a research analyst for about 1.5 years supporting mostly consulting work in the health and life sciences industry.

I am looking to move out of this industry into a more direct industry-oriented role rather than currently (which is like looking into the industry from the outside).

Does the JP Morgan strategy team underpay? I was quoted 90k base for a senior analyst role with 2.5 YOE. They told me they wouldn’t consider me for the next level up, which would pay only 110k base anyway.

Has anyone ever gone through a salary negotiation at a multi manager? This is for a junior analyst role (2 years out of college) in New York. What can I realistically ask for in terms of signing bonus, base and relocation?

After 4+ years at my company, I want to switch to an industry job. But I'm struggling to define what role I'm best suited. Most of my experience at my firm has consisted of data warehousing and ETL development in traditional on-prem database systems. Converted my summer at a low/mid BB in the ECM team, however now been offered an analyst role at a MM PE firm (~$1bn AUM).
Although my team at the BB is far from prestigious I’m just looking to hear some other opinions before I accept the PE offer, one thing catching me off guard is that most of the IP come from non-MBB consulting backgrounds so I’m wondering if this is really a good exit.
I’d be taking about a 10% pay cut compared to IB but progression to roles with carry is open.

Seems like the “Financial Analyst” role is just a new title for Accountant. I’m on my third interview for a Senior Financial Analyst position but the job description seems to be a mixture of both general accounting activities but also financial statement analysis. Is this a trap? Or is it truly a hybrid finance/accounting role?

Is Senior Accountant to Sr Financial Analyst reasonably possible? I'm having a hard time selling my audit experience to a Finance hiring manager who doesn't have PA experience or their CPA. I'm thinking if I do a Sr Accountant role for 1-3 years I would be more marketable for a Sr Financial Analyst position. Thoughts? Seems like most Financial Analyst positions want forecasting experience and some of the Sr Accountant roles I've seen mention that as a job duty.

Currently a Senior Associate and received an offer for an Analyst position at Google, with 25% pay bump. 7 years of experience and non MBA Masters (but relevant to field) Would it be a bad decision to accept a title that is a lateral move?

I'm a senior who interviewed for a "commercial operations analyst" role. The role was interesting as it required CPA and involved commercial and operational performance analysis as well as management and client reporting. However after further investigation and post-interview, I realised that the people i reported to directly didn't have any accounting/finance background (BD/strategy).

I'm focused on a FP&A career. I was wondering if the lack of experience from reports is a bad move.

If I want to work for Company 1, that gave me an offer, but their top salary range is $10k below my offer from Company 2 for the same position, how would I approach this? Both companies are similar size/ industry and this is an analyst level position
