What resources helped to solidify your “Why MBA” story? I know this is largely personal, but as a consultant who is looking to pursue an MBA to pivot to MBB or a Product manager role..two very generic stories, how did you go about nailing down that story for yourself.

Currently a consultant making ~104k base. Will likely be promoted to manager this year (assuming that’s ~130k base). Have the opp to move to a startup company paying ~115k with no bonus - the role is much more aligned to what I am interested in/industry I want to be in long term. My job at ACN is fine & I work with great people & am learning a lot, but I am not at all passionate about the work/industry I’m in. Is this job worth the jump if I’m 95% sure of promo, or do I wait until promo to look?

Im someone with a "business" background (supply chain, procurement) that went to work for as a consultant for tech consulting firm after finishing my MBA, but now having trouble finding a project. Got my PSM 1 cert, but not sure what else to do. Not a technical person, never coded. What would you recommend someone in my position to focus on? I'd like to remain on the project management/BA side of the business. TIA!

Has anyone left Big 4 to go independent with current client? My current client offered me a full time role but I want to come in as an independent consultant. I’d save them money and think they’d go for it. I’d use it as my first client and look to try my own consulting business. It’s always been my dream and I don’t see myself going through the ringer to make partner although I respect folks who do a ton. Just not for me. Too much mental health issues already. Can’t add that stress.

Background: previously a big four consultant in tech consulting. Didn’t like the tech implementation work at all and needed to pivot. After obtaining my masters in data science, I landed a good role that actually uses what I’ve learned. However, this role also made me realize that data science (at least in this organization) has a very low ceiling, and is also highly on the technical side. I see myself eventually wanting to move to leadership/management positions.

Is it weird that deloitte use consultant to interview for a senior consultant role? The interviewer didn't have any industry experience other than the 1 product he has worked with.

Typical pay bands for industry exit? Specifically looking at a Manager role at a PE-backed company in high COL city. Current a second-year MBB consultant with $170K base.
