Recently received an exciting job offer that I ultimately turned down due to personal reasons. I’ve thought it over and decided that I can push through the reasons and move forward with the role (it’s been less than a week since I’ve turned it down). What would be a good strategy to reaching out and seeing if the role is still available to me? Is it a long shot to assume I still have a chance?

Have you transitioned from Financial Advisor client facing position into investment banking? I am a top producing advisor in my first year, and I’m a great salesman, but the firm I’m at has us on commission only as an independent contractor and we get paid based off our assets under management quarterly, and every time we sell an insurance policy. In 3 months I’ve made around 75k but all of it is from life insurance. I’m worried that I will always be prospecting since my firm doesn’t give leads

Hi All- I recently started a new role 3 months ago that just is not seeming like a good fit. I was presented with full remote wfh, and 22k jump in salary. I think those factors enticed me to leave my previous role- but being in this new role has made me really regret my decision to leave. Should I consider going back to my old job or just start applying all together for new ones? I don't plan on mentioning my current 3 month role in interviews if I did look for new opps.

I was offered an operations role in Midtown NYC. Is $105k a good salary for someone with 2.5 years of experience in the industry? Bonuses pay out typically in the spring and I would start in late August.

So I went through all the around of the interview for an analyst position at Morgan Stanley and found out they’re on a hiring freeze. The person who would be my boss and who is very high up called me themselves to tell me that the job is mine, and that we should remain in touch until it’s lifted. Does anyone know how long the hiring freeze in finance will last? They said January most likely.

Looking for exit opportunity - Master in Statistics, two YOE of investment analyst experience in Wealth Management. Love the culture, but unsure the career path.

I worked the past few years at an Independent fee based firm. I enjoyed my job, but was underpaid and not where I wanted to be geographically. I took a job at a private practice for a larger company. The pay is better & the hours are more reasonable, but my job duties are mundane and I feel no real impact/purpose with my position. I was told to view it like a “residency” program that would ultimately lead to an advisor role,I feel like it’s hindering my growth at this point it. Any advice?

Wow, just had a recruiter reach out and cancel a call for tomorrow bc the “hiring manager is making an offer to an internal candidate”. While I can certainly understand and appreciate going with an internal candidate, I feel like it is pretty unprofessional to even schedule a call if you’re already that far into the process internally. Maybe I’m overreacting, especially given my interest was relatively low compared to other roles I’m currently in process for. Anybody else had this happen?
