Pursuing Finance opps at Director level and above. Have not had much experience with 3-statement financial model in more recent roles but have had done it in investment banking about 10 years ago. I see many startup roles require experience in it and some even mention extensive experience.

I'm a quick learner and can get up to speed for the role and can learn quickly on job. Is this something that should discourage me from applying?

Did several rounds of interviews for a financial analyst role with a cybersecurity company. They went with another candidate, who then backed out of the process so they offered the role. The recruiter asked “what is your magic number?” And shyly, I told her between 75k -82k. She responded with an “okayyyyy..... 🤔🤔” then said that she could get me up to 85k. I’m kind of regretting not asking for more now that I’m seeing the expense of the benefits. Kind of want upwards of 95k. Too late?

I have been a financial advisor for 2 years now, looking to possibly pivot to a new firm or a new role in finance all together I love the client interactions and I am very good on the sales side what are some options that are out there? I live in South Florida north of west palm.

Long story short… I went through all rounds of the interview process with ss&c for an implementation consultant role. Was told they started a hiring freeze and someone would reach out when it is lifted…. It’s been a few months now and I’m curious if anyone has insight or info on the freeze? The role was for chorus bpm consultant.

I have a job offer, Yay! It’s more money, which is great. But I have also been taking coding classes which I should be completed with by April. Hi I’m currently working as a bond indexing product analyst but I have a desire to transition into being a private credit product specialist….I’m hesitant to do Investor Relations in PE/PC because from what I read it was a heavy sales role i.e. fundraising. Does anyone have insight on this or any advice on how I can plan to transition. I would also love any information on what the job entitles

Can anyone at JPMC speak to what the bonuses usually look like and when they pay out each year? Just accepted a VP role at 125k and not sure what to expect for bonus. I try to kind of plan ahead the things we can do with bonus money each year in order of importance (ie if we have enough, we will do these things in this order… usually paying down portions of debts like car payments). Just not sure what to expect.

What is "Director Level" at Morgan Stanley?

I was offered a position that is an associate position in Ops but they informed me it is at the "Director Level." I have no past experience with the organization so I have no idea how to compare that to anything. Can anyone provide insight?

I also just accepted a fully remote position at company B and was going to put my two weeks in to company A when my background check for company B was nearing a close but now I kind of just want to keep both

Is this a red flag? - I interviewed for a financial analyst role with a company -

Had several rounds of interviews back in May, all signs pointed to that they all loved my resume and personality and I made a great impression. I was told that the role was on hold due to “beaucracy” but the hiring manager from the role has kept in touch. He then reached out to me yesterday asking if I’m still interested and want to move forward..no offer letter, just gauging my interest.

What would be your take?

There are rumblings that bonuses for my bank are in the 70k range for top performers, with a base of 100k for analyst. If that’s true, it’s an absolute joke for what they ask of you. The transaction advisory role I left was literally 130k base with probably 40% less work and I was sold that 100k+ bonuses weren’t unreasonable (based on last year’s deal flow) I guess they really just want to roll back headcount by making the job not worth the effort

Thinking about jumping ships to an industry that will do well during a recession. Been in a new SFA role for 6 months and the business have looming signs of being sold piece by piece by our soon to be private equity owners. Leave or stay? current company industry will not do well in a recession.

Anybody have salary range for Finance Risk Ops position for DTCC in Tampa? Just completed an interview with them on it. Just want to have a feel for what I might be looking at if they decide they want to hire me and go into salary negotiations.

Does every firm require you to onboard yourself as a client associate? Those at Wells and Chase, do you usually have a hiring manager or onboarding contact that sets up phones and tech for you?

Anyone work as a contract hire before? I have an offer but debating whether to take it. It's a lower rate than I'd like but also wondering if I should just take it for now to have some income and still look for a FT opportunity. Not sure what the pros/cons are and what the ramifications are if Im offered a FT position after just a few weeks in the contract role. Would appreciate any thoughts/advice. Thanks!

Comp Question: I feel like I’ve inadvertently golden handcuffed myself to a job I hate. Currently I make 200k + 50k base for an FP&A Job in NYC. I lead a team of 6, and work like 60hrs a week. But company/ boss are toxic, so kinda wanna exit.

I’m in my late 20s. No kids, no debt. Is my comp above average or not? Trying to decide if I should look for something that would be closer to 40hrs a week, and what comp would you like. Ideally tech, but obviously hard to break into.

Thoughts?

I have reason to believe that I am being underpaid in my current position relative to team members and relative to the industry. What is an appropriate way to ask about the salary band or address this? HR?
