I don’t get big tech, recruiting for senior manager roles and recruiters says role is individual contributor, how the f do you have a senior manager with no direct report? I’m an M and have 40 people reporting to me on current project.

Leaving Big 4 consulting as a Manager (161k base, TC around 180ish) for dream Amazon Senior PM role. Don’t want to overshoot but is 300k too much for an initial ask? Base is capped at 160k and was thinking remaining 140k in sign on bonus/stock over first few years. My friend there thinks it is doable but worried about them laughing me out of the room instead of negotiating.

Currently an A3 in assurance. I have two job offers: senior financial analyst (FP&A role) and senior accountant. Similar pay (a little over 40% raise), similar benefits. Will taking one of the offers limit me to just those types of roles going forward or would there still be an opportunity to do the other later on?

Received an offer for digital strategy analyst at a media company. Reports to EVP. Dream is to exit into M&E digital strategy so this lines up perfectly. Considering taking a position with a small-cap in the US trying to build their legal department. The title is standard “counsel” although the work would be with the senior leadership team and reporting to the GC in Europe. How reasonable is it to ask for a bump in title - Senior counsel or Head of Legal, US? I see a lot of B4 postings looking for senior consultants, but seldom do I see one looking for managers. Should a manager looking to lateral apply to one of these postings and ask for a manager role? I know my firm is looking for managers but I don’t see any postings for those positions in my search.
