midnight flight sfo-ewr is awesome until it gets delayed to 1:30. every shop closed by 11, fml.

I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group. How do I ask for a title change and pay increase to reflect what I actually do? Do I ask my contract house, or my NASA mgmt? Should I ask to make the pay retroactive since I was hired to do one thing, but do another?

Does anyone know what the starting salaries for Tax Associates and Technology Risk Consultants are within EY? I’m interested in joining on of these two positions but I’m unsure of salaries. TIA!

Tax senior with CPA at small firm. Best way to get to Big 4 audit? (LA or OC) Went to non-target so little to no alumni at B4. I don’t mind the switch to a lower title since audit was always my preference and was never a fan of tax (stayed local for family).

Any advice on how to handle an ECD in charge of your salary who says the only way to get a promotion or even a COL raise of any kind is through winning an award? Not consistently reliable and solid performance. Not keeping the client happy and profitable. “You either win an award, or all ya get is to keep your job.”
And yes, I’m aware leaving is always an option, but eager for any other advice how to navigate.

Which firm hires the dumbest people?

I feel under qualified at work but I also don’t know how much of it is in my head or in reality. I head a team and they seem to be happy… but I’m also personally not satisfied what we’re delivering is enough… so I have this weird mixed feeling of the stuff we’re doing not really being that stretching, but at the same time I feel out of my depth. I really don’t know what to do and whether to hold on in the hope I’ll learn something or go back to a lower grade and a more comfortable life.

Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too. When emailing someone for an interview for the first time do you address them by Mr/Mrs last name or by their first name?

I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. I’ve run into an issue a couple of times where the client doubts my advice because I am only 2 years in. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I address the fact that I’m only 2 years in?
