What do you do on Monday to get your week set up? I feel like I spend so much time helping my team get their pipelines in shape for the week / setting up a plan.
Would my bosses let me move to work in a different state? I work as an internal consultant within KPMG, working for the firm within the internal HR team. I have been with KPMG for 5 months but I am wanting to move back home to be with my family - on the other side of the country. There’s only a 2 hour Timezone difference and I’d make sure to work on current time. My line manager I report to lives in another state to me anyway - and it seems to work well for her. Am I pushing my luck to ask?
Good Afternoon and Happy Friday everyone! I work for a larger fulfillment center and I am tasked with coming up with some new ideas to do for team member engagements. Usually once a week we hand out cookies, chips or popcorn with Gatorade. This is for close to 1200 team members. Does anyone have any great ideas?
How do you communicate with employees who don't want to wear masks? Unbelievable to me people still have issues grasping this need.
Is it common practice for employee relations teams to have a policy that strongly discourages supervisors from corresponding with terminated employees? Cont’d...
What does Sales Enablement mean to you? Does anyone here work in some type of Sales Enablement roll currently?
What are the key components of your performance review process? The data points we currently use are manager and self scoring of a scorecard for each employee (scorecard outlines mission for the position, outcomes, and competencies) as well as peer feedback based on the competencies of the position (thought being a manager only has so much insight to a person’s day to day, especially in a matrix org). What am I missing?
I'm an HR Generalist with about 7 years of experience. What is the best way to learn more about Compensation? I've always wanted to dive deeper into that area of HR, however, until recently, I only have ever worked at larger organizations that claimed there wasn't time to cross train me or to help with comp projects. Would it be beneficial to take a step down and try to find an Jr comp analyst position? Is there a program I could participate in to learn specifically about the nuance's of compensation?

As a salesperson I generally take the approach of keeping my opinions to myself, if a customer asks me something directly I'm not going to lie to them I'll share what I believe in a respectful way. In other words I don't try to force my views on anyone, but lately our world seems to be more and more polarized on everything, and everyone is offered just by knowing you don't share the same views as they do they can't imagine their opinion isn't the only one. How are you handling these situations?
HELP: I have been a TA for 5 yrs, and prior my role was HR/recruiter.I have tried to get out of TA and move into HR but I am having a difficult time. I have applied to entry level HR roles, simply to “start” fresh, and have not seen any luck for 2yrs.It’s not that I don’t like TA, but my company has no growth option and I am stuck at a dead end, unless a magical spell is casted. I have also applied to other TA roles as well, in hope to get industry experience. How can I better market myself?
For all that HR leaders have done to shoulder the huge responsibilities over the last 6 months, what are your organizations doing to take care of you? For all the space we hold for other people, is anyone holding space for you?
Has anyone dealt with the death/major sickness of a parent while keeping up with your day to day? Any tips?
Hi All— Happy Juneteenth! I got approached about a VP Corp Comms role in NY. This would mean leaving consulting. What do you think is a good asking price in terms of salary?
When do you guys think the economy will start back up again? Just so I can start applying for a new job.
Don't understand how any Republican can claim to be Christian. Putting the economy over people's lives is so not what Jesus would do.
Curious if anyone else is a class officer for their school! I'm interested in learning how other schools operate. Thanks!
Does my CV suck or are there not many places hiring off cycle? Or is timing off? Had some 1:1s with recruiters and then barely heard anything after
Newbie apparel post. I need to wear a tux for a wedding. What is the difference between a tux and a black suit? I have a black suit, don't want to rent/buy a tux if it isn't necessary
As the most junior member of a project, I always feel like I am not adding any value to the team. Any advice for a first year consultant?
I’m about to have my 1 year review as an AE (i’ve only been with the company 1 year). I am going to push for a raise. What is a reasonable expectation for a salary increase by raise?
Travel recommendations? Planning a trip for next summer to celebrate milestone anniversary with SO. Probably 10-12 nights; Not worried about $. Don't want anything overly touristy but like amenities!
I have 3 different offers on the table rn. 1. Staying in my current consulting agency with a slight raise. Way underpaid, no colleagues I like - but a lot of freedom. 2. Switching agencies. 60% higher salary, colleagues I do know and like from projects we did together with several customers - fewer freedoms. 3. Customer offered me internal position. Great office hours, lots of vacation, great salary. But tbh: leaving consulting and project work? Don’t want this to happen. What you think?
Deciding on applying for 2 different roles within Goldman’s Early Career program that are based in different locations. My questions: 1.) does this hurt my candidacy applying for multiple roles and 2.) How confined are certain divisions to each location? For instance, is there any chance they’d be willing to work with me for a role in a location not offered? Thanks in advance for the help!
I’m 22 and am about to adopt a cat, but before I officially do it... I wanted to ask how those who travel every week do it? Should I wait until I’m more settled down
How many of you have actually read the entire handbook? How long was it? What was the hardest or easiest part of the handbook for you?
