Hi all! Does your company do anything to help working parents?
Have there been layoffs/rescinded job offers, etc. due to current situation? Please comment below. (My firm is larger, no layoffs ... yet).
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

We have a lot of inexperienced managers and leaders throughout the company. I wanted to propose bringing on a L&D leader who has experience creating long-term curriculums for managers and executives. For those that have a management training philosophy, who runs it and how often,m?
Does the word “inclusion” do more harm than good? What if the panel we simply said “Diversity & Equity”? My thought here is that inclusion insinuates that anyone who isn’t in the “majority” needs to feel “included”, which could be somewhat off putting. Shouldn’t the goal be for everyone to feel equal instead of simply feeling included? I’d love to get some opinions on this!
How is your company handling PTO/vacation specifically if it’s a “use it or lose it” policy? Are you still requiring employees to use it in 2020, or will there be leniency to move it to next year?

What do you consider appropriate assignments for paralegals? For assistants? Different firms seem to have different philosophies. If you could include some info about your firm/practice group (e.g., AmLaw50/100/200, boutique, solo, plaintiff or defense side, litigation or transaction, etc.), that would be helpful.
Junior associate here with very little work. I reached out to the assigning partner, but I haven’t heard back. I’m struggling to motivate myself to seek out more work by talking to other partners or coming up with ideas for articles and other non-billable work. Instead I find myself reading books, watching movies, and generally just kicking back and enjoying the free time. That said, I feel guilty that I’m not working a ton like I used to. I’m also worried that my lack of pro activity when it
What type of cases can I expect to get during Strategy and Ops interview for the Ads business?
I’m an HR Generalist. My job is a mix of recruitment and Employee Relations. I find the recruitment aspect to be pretty enjoyable and stress free, but the Employee Relations aspect does often give me a lot of anxiety (I’m a very anxious person to begin with). Recently, it’s been worse because I have several ER cases currently that seem like they could be potentially turning into lawsuits. Do others in ER experience these anxieties? If so, how do you manage them?
