I'm a little bit under two years in my HR career. I was hired on full time has an HR Generalist and I want to start studying for my SHRM-CP, but I'm a little bit intimidated on how to start. Any advice would be helpful. So far I am going to get SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification All-in-One Exam Guide by Dory Willer on Amazon. Are there free online tests to take that are comparable to the exam?
What are some games I can play with my team? We are spread out all over the US, would love to get my gang together virtually for happy hour and games. Any suggestions?
Are there companies out there acknowledging and/ or taking action to reflect on what is happening in our country in the aftermath of George Floyd and systemic racism?

I went to my first online networking event today. It was incredibly nerve wrecking. I found myself comparing myself to the other new members and people with similar experience to myself. I have only entry level experience in my field (human resources) and majority of the attendees had much more, executive level experience and a few entry level. How can I handle future networking events if I honestly can’t even answer the questions designed for us to discuss workplace conflict, policy etc when I’m only on the entry level side of it (doing the entry level job) and not the HR side.
Need to define diverse talent metrics to create a scorecard. Challenge is that the available data is based on opting in/out of self identification, that data point can change dramatically YOY. Any recommendations on metrics and scorecard?

Does anyone have any study tips or can suggest a helpful study tool for the HRCI SPHR exam? I used BenchPrepHR to help me prep and took a few practice test. I took my exam last week and unfortunately did not pass. Any tips would be helpful to help me prepare to retake in a few months.

Does anyone have any thoughts about a company terminating an employee within the HR team for testing positive for COVID 19 and further accusing the said employee of being the one that created the entire team to become infected by not answering the health screening questions accurately? The week prior to employee being tested the entire team was in the office sick. The company in question weeks prior wrote the employee up referencing sexual innuendo due to an accusation of a preferred name.
I'm in software sales, and pretty new to it. I like sales, and want a career in it, but I'm wondering what other industries have lucrative sales careers.

Good idea to jump ship now ? I’ve been thinking of looking for new jobs but not sure if it’s the smartest move given Covid. Will new companies pay me less and say it’s due to covid? Is it better to sit it out and then move when economy picks up? Currently working in Toronto and interested in Tech and analytics
PSA for creatives. Please be clear about your role in work that you put in your book. Our recruiter passed me a book with my work in it, including a list of awards it won. Problem is, idk the person.

I have been in a relationship with my SO for 3.5 years now. We both met as International students at a grad school in US and have been together ever since. Been living together for 2 years. Lately we have started sleeping in different rooms (He says I move around a lot at night and he cannot sleep) and sometimes its 3-4 months before we have sex. On the other hand we have been thinking of getting married soon. But I am not sure I want to be in such a sexless marriage. Cont. in comments
So I think I have ADHD, but getting tested costs about ~$2000 (in Canada!). I’ve read the signs and done quizzes and it seems likely. Anybody else have it? Any tips for how to manage it? I bought Omega3 capsules and I’m already in regular therapy. Looking into methods to organize myself though I’ve always struggled. The inability to focus and some forgetfulness is the big thing for me and I’m hoping O3s will help there for now.
Not sure who needs to hear this: just because you have a series of multicultural people spiking the camera doesn’t make your spot powerful.
Maybe I’m just an idiot, but why are so many companies setting up blockchain departments? “Distributed ledger” doesn’t seem like a feature Facebook needs. What else can you do with it?
