Having read the Outward Mindset from the Arbinger Institute I wonder if any of you have used it in your business to help with a cultural mind shift? If so, do you have thoughts you can share? Thanks!!
Is it neccessary to pay for an Employer Indeed account? What is your experiance/opinion of paying for Indeed Employer services?
Hi! What are your companies doing regarding sign on bonuses for interns this year? We ended up having our full intern program this summer and plan to extend offers. Are companies getting rid of sign on bonuses for entry level employees this year? Any insight would be appreciated!
I graduated with my bachelor's in HRM and I'm wondering if there are any certifications or trainings I could do before I lock down on the SHRM-CP. I recently became HIPAA certified for my company and that got me thinking about what else I could do to add to my resume. Looking for good stepping stone certificates.
Our managers want to restructure a role and give someone the option of 2 roles. Is this advisable? Or not?
What are HR folks seeing as an average cost for payroll providers? I'm going through demos with Paycor and would like to know what a reasonable breakdown is for payroll, time & attendance, onboarding, etc. How do you measure? Cost per employee? Any help is appreciated!
Vent: it’s really messed up to have recruiters reach out pretending they have a role for you then prying for industry contacts. I’m truly disgusted, don’t pretend to have a role for me then pry for business.
Just need to vent among people who understand me. So we have a multi-generational workplace which is kinda a good thing, generally, but not lately. With the whole opinion polarization around racism, I feel like I don’t know how to be empathetic, impartial and connect people anymore.
Is your company still expecting you to sell like there isn’t a pandemic going on, or is it just mine?
Most of our employees work from home (WFH). I have one with whom I am unable to make contact on the phone, texts, or emails outside of her scheduled hours and during her scheduled hours. When she is logged in and working, I am able to contact her through her computer's phone extension. Is it appropriate if I tell her that she needs to reply to my texts and/or get her phone fixed if it's not a work-provided phone?
Hi, I am bringing together a team through a reorg any suggestions on how to bring a new team together remotely?
When an employee complains about their manager how do you address it?...The employee was not reporting any harassment allegations; it was the standard “I do everything and make my boss look good while my boss does nothing all day.” There is really nothing to work off of here and I don’t know how to respond other than “sorry that sucks” and “what do you suggest be done?”
I’ve been a sales manager for a little over a year. In that time I’ve worked harder than I ever have before for significantly less pay then I made in sales and now the company is saying they may not pay me my quarterly bonus based on territory performance even after acknowledging that the numbers were un-achievable due to being on hiring freeze and being understaffed. My question is, is this normal for middle management?
Is anyone noticing a trend toward offering part-time or contract roles to reduce risk/cost of bringing on full-time talent?
Looking to transition out of Healthcare sales into SaaS and would like to get a position with Salesforce, Gartner or even move into the public sector. Just looking for some guidance and advice on anyone who has done this successfully and if you have any contacts that be helpful to learn from.
I'm probably overthinking this, but I figured I would ask anyways--what should I swear to a video interview? The position is an HR Generalist position, and will include the hiring manager (director), an HR Manager, a HRBP, and the VP of HR. Other members of the HR may "pop in" as well, but I was told those would be informal meet and greets.
There is a former employee who made some questionable purchases with his company credit card. Are we allowed to deduct them from his last paycheck?
Let’s start a thread on the info below: 1. Company 2. Pros/cons of your company, product, and role 3. Main source used to close deals (i.e. calls, emails, referrals, etc.) 4. Avg. Base Salary + OTE 5. How common is it to make quota
Nutrition advice needed: on the road I seem to be able to eat ok, routine of hotel egg whites and salad for lunch. When I'm home on the weekends my diet goes to hell Bc I never have food in the fridge
Are desk phones still a thing at your firm? They swtiched my good, old, trusty Cisco phone to a Bluetooth headset (that costs $120!!, I checked) and a laptop program that doesn’t work 80% of the time.
How many of you are getting over the stress and settling into a way of working that could have never been sold in pre-Covid? I’m scoped same, produce the same, bill the same, (cont.)
Going to a networking event where I’m meeting up with a current Google employee (alum from my grad school). How do I impress her enough to get a referral link? Any tips are appreciated 😁
I came across a role with Microsoft that will be a great fit for me. Anyone Microsoft fish here will be kind enough to refer me to this role? I can apply for this online but worried that it may go in a rabbit hole with no response ...thanks.
Thinking about getting either an Amex gold or platinum card, those who have either one- What do you like about it? Which do you think is worth getting? Would love recommendations!

If we measured success by health and wellness of the people in our profession, finance would look pretty unsuccessful
I swear there should be airports for known business travelers and airports for leisure or vacation travelers. Would be such an efficiency gain!
Which schools out of the M7 (maybe stretching into T15) would you recommend for courses for strengthening PE foundations? Targeting returning to MBB PE immediately post MBA.
Flashback - 10 years ago Obama announced an “exit strategy” from Afghanistan. Now the fighting still going on. At the time taliban controlled practically 0% of the country. Now they control 50%.
