Non public accounting professionals, how much PTO do you get? And how hard/easy is it to take? (I.e., need formal approval far in advance, or can you decide last minute to take a couple days off any given week, etc)
I want to quit n work for my audit client. Do I just ask to roll off and explain why? I can't interview till I'm off it but don't want to get pped pissed since I need support from him for the new role
I am still learning and my sr manager is really making me feel stupid. And maybe its just my firms culture but I am on a new engagement and have no senior above me to guide me, the work stream is just me and my senior manager. She had asked me a question about the engagement as to why we are doing something and she got mad because this was the second time she was telling me. I know she is really upset with me but this is all new and I have no one to go to for regular questions. I feel so dumb
I started in January and still feel like I know absolutely nothing. Every time I get assigned work I open up the workpapers I get anxiety and I just sit there completely lost. Continued..

Managers, new and experienced, what do you miss about being a senior? I’m up for a promotion this yr and want to know what I shouldn’t take for granted as a senior and what I should prepare myself for
really considering leaving B4 but my team relies so heavily on me, yet I feel so overworked and under appreciated. However I feel bad leaving them in the dust. anyone go through this? How did you go about/what were the steps of leaving?
Inquiring for an intern friend; what are the tax starting salaries for a southeast region like Atlanta.

Is FP&A more fulfilling than accounting? I’m getting a little bored in accounting in industry and am thinking about transitioning, but worried grass is greener on the other side. Curious to hear if anyone has any insight!
I like to toggle between fully touched up appearance and not at all on Zoom, just to remind myself…

Interviewing with Splunk. Anyone have insight into the company culture and whether this is a good exit opp with just under 3 years of experience?
Honestly have no idea how I'm going to adapt to being back in an office. Love wfh life. Unless offices suddenly adapt a devil-may-care no pants and untrained dogs allowed policy. Then I'm good.
Deloitte moms, how much of your 6 month mat leave is made up of short term disability and how much is paid parental time off?
I’m currently a senior accountant and I mainly focus on accruals and expense analysis. Prior to this role I was in State & Local Tax. I wasn’t sure if tax is where I wanted to be at the time especially because I heard you can get pigeonholed. I actually kind of miss the work that I used to but also found tax can be very mentally challenging. I’m struggling with trying to decide if I should go back to tax or maybe use my current experience to go into FP&A or a Finance related role. Advise please!
Interested in hearing from the Sr Mgrs (and recently promoted PPEDs) on how transparent the process for promotion to PPED is. And how the annual SM rating process operates.
Found a lot of Vintage Omega Seamasters online for very cheap ($100-400), on many platforms. Any reason why vintage sea masters are so cheap and thoughts on buying one?

Hi 🐟 ! I'm a senior in undergrad that interviewed through final rounds with a few mbb/tier 2 consulting firms recruiting from my school. The recruiting process didn't go too well for me overall and
Start-up I had final rounds with said I was a great fit, but didn’t hire me for the role. Now they’re asking me to come on for a 3-6 month consulting role with potential to come on full time. This requires me to leave McK, where I am BA working on transition to EM. I really wanted to work for this start-up and don’t want to be a partner, but hate leaving McK for non-guaranteed outcome. Thoughts on what to do?
Should all the on-site interviews have a feedback of "hire/ strong hire" in order to proceed to HC? What if one of rounds was not up to the mark?
How soon do transitions happen (involuntarily) at MBBs? I recently joined and am always worried that I’ll be let go. What are the conversations/processes like? [Asking for MBB because I’m also curious about the differences if any between the firms]
If i want to do marketing, should I commit (a kind of early decision program BCG has with Kellogg) to the Kellogg 1Y MBA or take a chance at Wharton or Harvard? I would be sponsored in either case.
Looking for advice. I'm a tax manager that worked at both Big 4 and mid-tier in expat/mobility tax. I want to move away from tax compliance and more into technology. I currently use Excel and VBA for automating processes, and are taking beginner coding classes (Python, intro to programming). What career path do I have? I thought about quitting to do a bootcamp and work as a software developer, but is it too risky? Perhaps I can blend my tax experience and "coding" skills and do tax technology?
