What do you think is more stable in the current market (more recession-proof) - a job in a small boutique estate firm, or a legal position with government?

As an associate in a small firm, if you are always asked to do some marketing (social media postings which take longer and more efforts than your supervisor assumed) that you do not like, and you feel the team management is problematic (eg: paralegal is sent to do business development), should I transfer immediately or talk to a partner?

For those who had to take a second bar exam to get licensed in a new jurisdiction while working, how did you time your studying? I.e., how many weeks out did you start studying if you were only able to study part time, and did you take any time off leading up to the exam?
Searching for a new position while putting in 100% at my current firm. It has been difficult to leave for interviews without making partners suspicious. Any tips to navigate this process?
Hi, Ben Analyst with 2.5 YOE. Anyone here graduate with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies? Has that held you back in your career and what degree or cert did you obtain when furthering your career? I am looking to grow in benefits and I've reviewed CEBs, PHR and was interested in obtaining my MA, in HRM? Feedback?
I'm a Manager who would like to be promoted to Director in the near future. While reflecting on how I've developed in my role with my current company, I've realized that the only development/coaching I've received has been on how to interact with the difficult personalities on our leadership team. I know that messaging is important, but this feels really specific to individual's bad behavior.
Is this common for someone who is looking to move from Manager to Director?
How does the holiday weekend impact your quota? Still the same? It's still the same for me, which I feel is unfair.
Non-exempt employee? After interviewing for a sales position for a SaaS company, I received an offer. The recruiter made it sound like it was a salary, when I received the offer, I come to find out that they pay “hourly” as a non-exempt employee. Has anyone ever worked as a non-exempt employee before? I think I’m going to dislike tracking my hours. They do pay “overtime” though.

Being a realtor is not what I expected! I was so excited when I joined being younger, but nowadays it's all work and too little time off. It's a bit frustrating because I'm not sure where to go from here. I've been doing this for 5 years now. Any help on what choice to make? I do not have a backup plan.

What’s the DIAC vertical within Pwc. I have been hired for MC Analytics HIA, can any one share how good or bad the division is within PwC
Can I get advice on whether to take internal or external offer? Internal offer is: rotate on our machine learning eng squad (currently I just do sql analytics) and switch to eng at year end when headcount opens. My salary will stagnate for a bit as I start at lvl1 again, but this will open a whole new career path and set me up 2-5 years from now. External is go from 145>205k but it’s just another sql analysis job, no progression available. Instant money but dead end.
Hate to have a promotion discussion. Was told by HR I would be a senior manager after one year from my starting daft. Now is 3 + year later, I am still a manager. Very long hrs and too many clients.

I just reached out to a recruiter about a job posting they had on LinkedIn. After doing so, I realized that the firm I currently work at is using the very same recruiter to hire more associates. Is my firm going to find out that I’m looking for other jobs? I could see them firing me on the spot for that!
