I graduated with my bachelor's in HRM and I'm wondering if there are any certifications or trainings I could do before I lock down on the SHRM-CP. I recently became HIPAA certified for my company and that got me thinking about what else I could do to add to my resume. Looking for good stepping stone certificates.

Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance
Just need to vent among people who understand me. So we have a multi-generational workplace which is kinda a good thing, generally, but not lately. With the whole opinion polarization around racism, I feel like I don’t know how to be empathetic, impartial and connect people anymore.

Most of our employees work from home (WFH). I have one with whom I am unable to make contact on the phone, texts, or emails outside of her scheduled hours and during her scheduled hours. When she is logged in and working, I am able to contact her through her computer's phone extension. Is it appropriate if I tell her that she needs to reply to my texts and/or get her phone fixed if it's not a work-provided phone?

When an employee complains about their manager how do you address it?...The employee was not reporting any harassment allegations; it was the standard “I do everything and make my boss look good while my boss does nothing all day.” There is really nothing to work off of here and I don’t know how to respond other than “sorry that sucks” and “what do you suggest be done?”
I’ve been a sales manager for a little over a year. In that time I’ve worked harder than I ever have before for significantly less pay then I made in sales and now the company is saying they may not pay me my quarterly bonus based on territory performance even after acknowledging that the numbers were un-achievable due to being on hiring freeze and being understaffed. My question is, is this normal for middle management?

The position is an HR Generalist position, and will include the hiring manager (director), an HR Manager, a HRBP, and the VP of HR.
