Now that networking events are virtual and limited opportunity for face to face meetings - how are new leads being generated besides website traffic. How do you "network" at virtual meetings and presentations?
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
"Coffee's for closers" is a classic scene. Any other scenes that get you boys pumped up for the day?
As a company we are looking at going digital with our employee personnel and medical files etc. What are some of the ways you have done that? Any advice/recommended process?
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?
Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
To hr professionals in finance..I’m considering getting an online certificate through Cornell in data/analytics. Worth it or do employers think it’s equivalent to Coursera?
For those in b2b sales how are your orders placed most? Online, customer service or sales reps?
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
I would like to help those wanting to shift careers in HR, minorities, or women going back to the workforce, learn workday coding and ultimately help them get a job in the space. Is there any interest?
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
Would you ask for a higher pay at a startup, due to the company not having a pension scheme for its employees?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
What training or guidance are you giving managers at your firms about managing hybrid teams? There is a lot out there on remote teams, but a lot of us are going back three days a week which means people at home and people in the room. Any tips to pass on?
Has anyone submitted grad school applications while working in tech sales? Or have any managers here managed employees who’ve gone through this process? I know in roles like finance and consulting, grad or business school is part of the next step in employees’ careers so employers are supportive. I’m not sure it’s the same for tech roles. Honest opinion—will my desire to go to grad school disincentivize my employer to invest in me?
Has anyone taken the PHR exam lately? What was the best test prep IYO? Online on demand , online live classes? Are the practice exams worth the cost?
Anyone here a member of Revenue Collective? Is it worth it? What kind of value have you gotten out of it if so? Thanks!
Considering a chief of staff role at a large financial company for one of their VPs. Interview process is just starting but I’m curious of thoughts on growth opportunities. Hopefully next step is VP
Going to interview at Wolff Olins next week. Anyone have experience at Brand Consultancy shops compared to the more traditional agency setup? 🤒
Should I choose to go into an industry that is “perfect for my background” or into an industry that I am interested in? My background is healthcare/life science but interested in commercial banking. Compensation and job security are my top priorities.
Anyone interested in case interview prep? I am about to leave Bain and have some time before my next gig so can officially do case interviews with people looking to break into MBB. PM me if interested!
Looking to leave consulting and go back to industry (life sciences). Was at PwC and now at a IT consulting firm. Who is hiring? East Coast preferred
I am supposed to start a new job in February but my H1-B visa transfer will probably still be in process (not approved). Is it risky to leave my current employer while the H1-B transfer is still in process?
I’ve got ~2 YOE at a boutique consulting firm and ~2 YOE at a tier 2 consulting firm (OW, LEK, EYP, ATK). Any chance to enter MBB at a non entry level position, even though I’m only 1 role above entry level at my current firm?
Funny watching the media and twitter comment on the tax plan talking points while having no knowledge of tax or the impact
I’m really excited finding out that Juneteenth became a federal holiday today. Most of my past jobs I didn’t get all the 10 holidays (usually just between 6-8) but knowing the significance and history of Juneteenth, this is step in right direction.
Hello! Anyone working on Kaiser’s Life Sciences consulting side (Kx) willing to chat? Currently working in the health space under an econ/consulting role with 2 YOE and am looking to make a lateral move to an Associate Consultant role (very niche and boutique role currently, want to explore career growth). Much appreciated!
Just had the TSA at CLT make me throw out half my toiletries since they didn’t fit in a quart size bag. Anyone else have this issue and found a way around it? Serious responses only please. 😄
I just finished my third year as a business technology analyst in Deloitte’s Analytics and Cognitive Consulting. I’m only making $55k with no bonus. Should I leave? Do market adjustments happen?
Family office role, yay or nay?
Can you start working at another big 4 firm while taking terminal pto at your current one (during 2 week notice period), assuming that you are not on a project?
Best feeling is landing an offer with a 40% raise before layoff, then getting the HR/Partner invite and telling them they could've saved $25k severance because you were about to quit the next day. 😂
