4yo has started to get out of bed and run out the room after we put her down for fun. No change in pre-bed routine, I don’t want to stay in her room until she’s asleep if I can avoid it and locking...

My $0.02: Look at her going to bed as “the start of her rest period”. It’s not about her going straight into REM sleep, so make it clear if her body isn’t quite tired yet, she can play in her room for a little bit, but since it’s bed time she isn’t allowed to come out.
This combined with a slightly later bedtime meant our son was able to rationalise even if he didn’t feel immediately ready to sleep, it was time to be alone and quiet - which 9/10 times results in sleep.

I have my 4yo close her eyes and I count back from 30 to 0 until my voice is a whisper.

I also will put a timer on for 15 min so my daughter can adjust and play in bed. I return and kill the lights. I return in 15 and whisper she needs rest

Her in feels a bit much. Anyone else deal with this before or has suggestions on what to do?

Give them a toy to cling on to and lock door for a couple of days. They will get used to.

My daughter is 17 and beginning to wear tight clothes and tops with a revealing neckline. Personally makes me uncomfortable and feel like it looks trashy. How do I have a conversation with her about this? I don't want to take a hard line attitude because I know once she's in college, I'll have no control and she is close to being an adult anyway. I'd like her to make better choices for herself. I'm divorced so hard to do this together with ex. Ex told me she felt uncomfortable too but trusts her
