if you really have not done anything to warrant being fired, and were fired with what feels like limited cause, you really need to find a lawyer and not post on SM anymore. also, hopefully you already know, but you cannot collect unemployment insurance if you were fired.

You’re not alone in this, their weapon of choice is ‘performance’ when it’s a RIF. They won’t call it a RIF or then they can’t rehire for the same position. Technically they can replace if they say it was performance based.
You’ll want to practice your exit statement, meaning you departed from firm X, to find new opportunities and leave it at that. Hopefully you received some type of severance. All the best!

This is factually incorrect. There is no restriction around rehiring for a position eliminated in a layoff.
Hiring managers don't follow layoff news at all other companies, and even if they do, there is enough skepticism around how decisions are made that you may be able to fly under the radar. Formulate a brief story and stick with it.
