Sounds like you need to cut a bitch
Call her back and tell her you have a recruiter that is more experienced than she is and that she shouldn't bother being I the game anymore.
Sounds like a Creative Circle move
@ACD a lot of recruiters now make their commission based on how much they saved the company. So actually they benefit from the candidate taking a lesser salary. Sigh everything is fucking insane politics these days.
Call the bluff.
I believe it is 33%, actually. However agency can say "we'll go to $100,000, but if you get them for $90,000 or less you'll get a $5,000 bonus on top of the fulll 1/3 on $100K." Make sense?
Basically the headhunter's passive aggressive way of telling you it's going to be harder to sell you in to the position.
ACD You missed the point. But thanks everyone else 🤗
Headhunter. This is before even going on an interview.
AD2, AD1 is correct. You get a bonus for filling the job below the scope, and I think you still get the full commission
Play some hardball with her
👆um really?? Please
Account Director1, that I've never heard and have recruiter friends, how does it work exactly?
I think it might also be that recruiter knows you can't get 90k but thinks you're a good lead that might get hired so they'd make their money on a little lower salary placement than nothing if you walk away or employer rejects you for being out of their pay range.
Get more experience.
Is it an internal recruiter or a headhunter?
Head hunters make a % on placements. Strange that she would try to cut her pay by shrinking the offer, especially before the interview.
Tell her no.
Yeah, I'm asking how it works. How do you calculate the "saved" amount and the commission. Traditionally, it's say 20% of annual salary. What % of which amount are they making in this case?
That's just unnecessary. Basically asking you to devalue yourself. SMH.
Yeah. Thanks. I'll ask around, seems a tad extreme, especially for a non exec type, very senior person...
