Hi there, I have 3.5 YOE working for NHS Finance. I applied to Deloitte Risk Advisory, Public Sector (London, UK) and was successful. Waiting to hear back with package offer but it’s been over 2 weeks - was told they may offer M2 grade, any ideas what this is?
I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.
What’s the WLB like? Good job security?
McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Most companies have a clause somewhere, likely in a handbook that you’ve signed off on in new hire paperwork, that prohibits this.
The big 4s have independence requirements that you have to meet and they require approval to have a second job. Consequences exist if they catch you without approval.
It's really impossible to do two high-power ft jobs well. You end up failing at both, which is unhelpful in the long-run. Better to focus in on one employer and work on developing your career path from there.
It’s only a short term gain. “Wow I’m making 2x salary” yeah, for a month and then you’re fired from 2 jobs and now no one wants to hire you again.
Deloitte takes independence requirements seriously, they enforce them firmly too. I remember getting someone sent to HR and later terminated for “offshoring” his Deloitte job. When pressed, he confessed he had two jobs. He got caught by allowing someone to client salesforce login using his credentials from India.
Yeah... I did 2x 40-hr /wk jobs when I was 24 (both on-site). I had approval from my main job. I was only sleeping 3.5 hours on most nights. I never had a full day off as my second job was on the weekends too and main job was M-F. I was always tired, I couldn't articulate ideas in meetings sufficiently, it was unsafe (nodding off at stop lights), and any social life I had was gone. It lasted 2 months before I scaled back the second job to part-time, weekends only. Yeah, it was good money for a couple of months, but it wasn't worth the risks/costs.
