Looking to make a career pivot and don’t know if I should outright quit and take a breather from work (I have enough savings) to visit family abroad or take FMLA, knowing I would quit immediately after. Do you think I’d burn bridges by taking FMLA, then quitting 2 weeks later? The only reason I’d do that option is for financial reasons and to have income while I am visiting family.

Help please! Just seeking calibration / data points. Total household income = $350k. HCOL / high tax area (nyc, so state and city taxes). We are a couple with no kids, no debt. Rent and utilities is 3.2k monthly (combined). Car payment + insurance is 420/month. What sounds like (or if you’re in a similar situation, what is) reasonable avg total monthly spend (incl all expenses even if one-time like travel etc). Quick question, helping old client in car accident, think she has a claim against a major corporation. So I've been working at my company for 8 months now as a business analyst. Both senior consultants on my project are leaving, with no replacements in sight, so the project work is most likely going to fall to me. I am already doing most of the work of a full fledged consultant as defined by the companies description. I'm only getting paid 55k a year which I'm being told by other employees is below industry standard (they take around 70% of my billable rate) and I'm feeling kind of stuck. Advise?
