Advice needed. I start studying for the CPA Exam (BEC) next week. It’s been about 5 years since I last studied and finished college. What are the best ways to study, I found in college I learned better when I wrote things down but is that even worth it for this? I have Becker Online and physical textbook. Just trying to figure out the best and time efficient way to study.

I’m reading through books, and then just start hammering questions. I also read/memorize the summarized notes just so it sticks in me subconsciously.

like

I do the MCs and write notes on the explanations they give. Hammer as many MCs a day as you can!

I found the lectures aren’t too helpful and i rather just read the book, but that may just be me!

like

This has been my method with BEC per module. Read the outline and take notes, go over the flashcards and take notes, go over thefinal review and take notes. Do MCQs, if needed read the lecture.

like

Be consistent and get some studying done everyday!

like

Prepare to grind, those hour lectures are rough

like

I like watching the lectures at a faster speed, make the notes they make in the physical book, then I’ll go back through and write out an outline of the important stuff. The nice thing with the lecture is they will give you hints like if something is definitely going to be on the exam or if an equation will need to be memorized.

like

Definitely try some different studying techniques! Something like the pomodoro method might help you get through some of those longer study sessions/modules

like

I realize I can't sit through one long session of studying so in the mornings I go over last night's MCQs, especially the ones I went wrong, do a little light notes review and flashcards review, taking a tiny MCQ quiz to go. Same for the afternoon where I sit down to review and do more MCQ and then after work, I do MORE MCQs and go through the actual lecture for the day.

For me, just questions all day followed by the lectures towards the evening. I just started too so 😅

Good morning, I am a recent under-grad and working as a BI Developer. I’m looking at transitioning to a project or product manager role and I have 1+ YOE. I know the job market is not that great as of now but I’ve applied to countless PM roles and have had no success. I want to know from other PM’s if it’s necessary for me to get a PMP certification before I can get a job or it’s not that of a requirement?
