After 12 years going to make the jump out of big law. What should I be sure to ask for, take with me, ask for copies of etc?

How's the job market lately? I'm considering quitting, moving there, then starting my search. Do you think it'd take more than a few months (say, 6 max) to land a good role?

For anyone that is CPHQ certified - how has this certification benefited you? Do you think it has improved your job prospects? Thanks in advance!

I got hired straight out from college 5 years ago from a small CPA firm and have worked in Tax ever since. Lately, I feel like this is not what I'm actually into. What else I can do with my Accounting degree?

My passion is Real Estate and Interior Design, love Managerial Accounting, I can sit for hours analyzing data, I also have a degree in Supply Chain Management.

My passion cannot feed my family but I've been burned out so much after years in Tax. 😞

I bagged an offer letter from Global Logic, for Automation Testing, but after connecting with team got to know they are using out dated tools for testing but while interviewing they asked about the latest tools which there in the market.
So can anyone guide me what to do now , is there any criteria to switch the project inside the GL only? How easy is getting to another project with GL?

Would it be hard to get a exp associate role in advisory at a B4 as someone with about 10 months in audit at EY, 7 months experience in corporate accounting at a F300 and CPA? Hated my time at the F300 but had thought the grass would be greener in industry. I’m starting a financial analyst position at a major hospital system in my area soon and want to stick with that for a couple years before making a transition but was curious if I just don’t have the right experience for a role in advisory.

I am 7 yoe as TechnoFuntional Consultant working with SAP ABAP and SAP SD. I started as ABAP extensively working with SD, so certified in SD. Is there a demand for this type of skill? What role should I look for?

Hello my fellow shoal of fish. I am seeking recommendations for a lounge chair in my office. I currently have the adjustable stand desk and a relatively comfortable office chair (not when reclining) but the other half of my office is empty. Im putting in a 55” tv and need a recliner, lounge chair, or something of the sorts to put in front of the tv. Something where i can put my feet up. I have been overworked and overwhelmed at my current job for quite a while. This is my first position out of law school, small firm with large caseload, and in my second year of practice. I often think I should look for another opportunity elsewhere but I don't know that any other firms would give me the potential for growth and experience that I am getting here. I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. Still I struggle. Should I try public interest? Not that I don’t need the money but it’s hard to work when I am so detached and find it meaningless

Big law for 8 years (litigation/antitrust) and have never enjoyed the work. It’s too late to try a new practice area and am thinking about either leaving the law or going in house. Any non law ideas?

What are some options for a big law debt finance associate with only a year under their belt? Willing to take a pretty big paycut, I just can’t do billables anymore.

One of my junior associates recently resigned and I've been trying to make an exit myself for several months now. The job market has been really competitive but I am getting closer to getting a new job and moving on. The firm culture isn't great and work-life balance is non existent. My physical and mental health have been suffering, so I really don't think I could stay. How did you avoid the guilt trips from Partners/Senior staff trying to get you to stay?

I am looking to enter big law. I had a clerkship on a state Business Calendar and am a current first year litigation associate where I have prepared for a trial, taken and defended depositions, and have extensive motion writing practice in tech, business, and employment cases. Is it a waste of time to try and make a move to big law with such few years of experience?

3rd year work comp attorney, trying to transition to different non-litigation practice or law exit opportunity. Any ideas?
