I’m working in a agency but want to jump to vendor side. I have a business contact from the vendor i want to work with and have met in person during team connect. So we kinda know each other more than work. Is it appropriate to request referral from him?

I am not too involved in the project but I was in a few meetings and went on a field trip with them as well.
