Agency has seen a lot of turnover due to layoffs and departures. How much notice would you expect a group creative director to give with that context?

I started a full time in-house design job that pays extremely well. I barely have to work at all. This makes me very confused since I kept hearing stories of people working 60+ hr weeks as designers at ad agencies. I am not complaining, but I have this creeping irrational feeling that I’ll get fired for not working even though there’s nothing for me to do. Should i be making up projects or asking for more work? Or just chill out? I just feel very confused. Are a lot of full time jobs like this?

Have a big interview tomorrow. The question I dread the most is about why you’re looking for a new job. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

A couple of ppl in my previous agency, saw a competitor acct try a very interesting idea that we thought was cool — but their execution was super localized, in europe, and was not even done to its fullest potential. So, they didnt get ANY press (just like two articles from random websites). Fast forward and Im at another agency, thinking that now more than ever, that idea could be done better. Is it fair game?
