Traditional case interview. Some behavioral. Just make sure to be 1/very ebitda oriented and 2/ focused on practical and fast value delivery
^ how so? On first point, I've actually heard it's a brutal culture
I moved because I got a better job at bcg and wanted some change (seeing different people). BCG: more polished, more strategic, high immediate impact, more fluff, career track clearer, hierarchical, more L&D
Alix: meritocracy, everybody makes slides, flat, practical, high immediate impact, lots of former executives
Both are great firms.
Great firm btw. Very interesting work
^Ive heard the same.
I've heard they do a lot of Mon-Fri travel and have high churn rates because of a very harsh culture
Same, experienced people who know what they are doing and they pay well but very tough environment with a lot of internal politics
It's so no bullshit culture that is very very result oriented. No slacker in the company. Some people may call it harsh.
BCG1: how do you know they are great? How would you rank them vs bcg?
^ depends on KPCs, no? 🙃
Bain - what's kpc?
I worked there
BCG1: how do you find it at bcg vs Alix? Why did you move?
Thanks BCG1. Did you get enough support from senior people on your projects? Is the culture indeed tougher vs bcg and how does it materialize in everyday work?
And btw does tough mean something like up or out?
I think it's the same senior level of support in both firms. Bcg is more patient though (alix is not since it's heavy at the top). You are expected to know your shit and be autonomous.
Hm, why does being heavy on top lead to less patient approach?
Thanks for the insights bcg1
Btw I'm sure this has been discussed - but what is the range of their comp for VPs?
