this is one fight you won't win.. as long as he is in his room and isn't disturbing anyone..let him be.. i got 5 kids for context

Moat around the bed with drawbridge on a timer. This would be my choice, but looking for other ideas as I'm about to be in the same boat.

Not much you can do about it. 🤷‍♂️

Where are the toys? If in his room, remove them. If he leaves his room to play, lock the door. Best way I found to do that is to reverse the doorknob so the lock faces the hallway, not the bedroom. That way you don't need to install anything extra to lock it from the outside.

5 kids myself and ot worked like a charm. I did leave some basic stuffed animals and books in the room. That way it gives them something quiet to hold or play with in case they do wake up early.

So the answer for us (so far) was: give it a day. He got up at 545 the next day, and 630 th e next. He’s a pretty solid sleeper in general and I get impatient/cranky when he throws us for a loop

The green light clocks work very well

How do you handle people’s kids showing up on video meetings? Screaming, kicking, hamming it up, (wasting time.) Everyone else is coo-ing…I’m not a kids person. Heard a technique which is to drop off the call bc you “assume the call is over” (which seems like a great way to get fired especially if it’s a way higher up’s kids - plus it feels rather passive aggressive.) Thoughts?

We recently sleep trained our 7 month son. He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day. We both love that he is getting enough sleep and well rested on one hand. On the other hand, we are now wondering if he is sleeping way too much.. contd…

Can someone explain how PTO works in house? I have only ever worked at a firm, starting my first in house position end of this month. I’m used to just blocking off time on my calendar if I have an appointment (like the rare occasion I have a dental appointment, well child checkup, etc) and then going. Do I really need to take PTO for these things? I’ll be working remotely 3-4 days a week for reference and I’m talking about days when I’m remote.

Anyone else struggling with hormones / mood swings? I am almost 16 weeks and been having a real tough time lately, feeling really down and stressed about things. Sadly, causing tension between me and my partner as well as he cannot relate and seems preoccupied with business as usual. Trying to get out the funk and just telling myself it’s all the hormones.

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth
