How tough is it to make the jump from SMB SAAS to Mid-market type roles? I’ve been annihilating my quota in my current role for the past 18 months, but on pretty small deal sizes. (Also I have no college degree) will sales managers care more about the performance record? Or more about the lack of big deal experience?

Is it possible to make SM after being MGR only 2 years? Was 5 star rated as MGR 1 and gold standard as MGR 2.

What book have you read that was helpful for your career and/or that you would recommend? Could be a technical book, management, etc. For me, it’s a book I read a few years ago: The Phoenix Project. I never thought I would read and like a novel about DevOps but I recommend it to all my managers.

Rant: my boyfriend is so annoying with this diet! I GET IT. You want to eat healthy! But when you have your friends at our place every other weekend they order pizza and you devour most of 2 boxes! I applied to B schools and while I got into a school I'm very happy with, another school that was my #1 rejected me outright when I felt I had a great shot. Furthermore, that school was close to both my and my wife's families. So despite the school im attending being better for my career, I can't help but feel that I've let my wife and both of our families down.

I am an experienced software and data product developer/ manager, who took a break to try consulting. My industry is Health and Public sector. I am trying to get back to product, but, the public sector experience is not apple = apple match in the private PM world. For eg. No agile. Words of advise from people who have made a transition from public sector to private sector in the PM space? Are there any good product management certificate courses that are respected in the PM-ing world?
