Got laid off. Have savings to hold me until I find a new position but mostly I'm just embarrassed. Has anyone ever gotten laid off and not told their friends/partner about it? I just don't want people in my circle to know I failed basically.

@PWC is worst company for freshers. They are force innocents to resign by themselves and threating then to not to mail anyone and not share this context to anyone worst company, if layoff means ok removing and threatening to not to disclose to anyone means the have lost every single moral. Don't fall trap in the brand name @PWC.

One of my senior managers is a boomerang and told me she was laid off when she was 7 months pregnant about 10 years ago. I think she was a senior or manager. She was in a specific group and everybody was laid off. It wasn’t performance based.

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. It's day 2 for me at Deloitte (PDM) , just received my laptop yesterday , completed a few of the trainings and created/uploaded my resume. Coach and onboarding advisor have not been assigned yet. When do I get assigned to a project? What does that process look like ? How long does this orientation go on for ? And do I have to transfer all my stocks from robinhood to one of their approved brokerages?

Well, I was on an onboarding call and they were talking about staffing and projects. The presenter said to reach out to them if you don’t think your project is a good fit. In his words “you were hired into the firm, not a specific project. We see you here long term... With the exception of PDM model” 😅

Can you help explain why a team would be able to afford hiring an individual under PDM at a higher salary but unable to offer the same package under the Traditional route?

For context, I’m currently negotiating for a role and have expressed some of my concerns. My recruiter has been very helpful, but I’d like to better understand the reasoning before making my decision. The offer is $100k for PDM, but $85k max if brought on as Traditional.
