I'm sorry you're hurting. I've definitely been there. What works for me is just looking for a new job. Spending an hour or so each day dedicated to sending out applications. Eventually my burnout passes and I feel better, but worst-case scenario, you've put some feelers out there.
Can’t seem to get started looking for a new job. The prospect of job hunting in this market exhausts me
Try this! Set a calendar event for an hour each day where you just shut off all devices or airplane mode. Journal, meditate and just enjoy being in the quiet with your thoughts. Reflection is a great way to put our minds at ease.
And it even works if you do it daily, including weekends! Hope that helps and stay positive!
That does help. I will try this. Thank you
I’m sorry to see you’re going through that. I like to set aside time to listen to an audiobook in a genre that won’t require me to think hard (ex: high fantasy or romcoms). This allows my brain to relax and just float off to another world. I sometimes do this in the morning but I usually do this in the evenings
I do this with trash reality tv but perhaps I should change my drug of choice
Really sorry for the condition you're in I just find ways to express the pent up hate for the job. In other words, look for other ones lol
With how tough the job market is and how little time my current job leaves me, it seems impossible to get out of here
It’s sadly way too common for PMMs to be burned out. Companies need to have realistic expectations of PMMs as we can’t fix everything at the same time.
See what the root of the problem is. If it’s your manager or just the way the company you’re at operates, then do consider leaving. Otherwise, learn to disassociate yourself from work and how well you think you’re doing it.
