Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

If you have a shorter investment horizon, your risk tolerance should probably be lower unless you're already rich and this is just fun money. In that case, you can buy the retirement fund that corresponds to your investment horizon.

If you're super confused, I recommend a "target retirement" fund. Very cheap and it will invest in an appropriate mix of funds, becoming more conservative automatically as you near retirement.
I understand that but that would be an extremely long term strategy. Im not necessarily looking for short term gains but don't want it to be a retirement thing as well.
