I’d just take courses UX/UI design and find opportunities where you have to deliver on visual design, in order to develop your skills. There aren’t too many companies that make the division between UX vs UI and Product Designers are expected to do both. The salaries are also better for Product Designers.
Otherwise, if you do decide to specialize in UI, courses on UX/UI are still beneficial, so that you understand how UXers work. If you’re working on the web, an art director career might be a better fit.
