Taxes in Canada aren’t lower lol
A box of timbits I’m guessing
Taxes in Canada are definitely lower than a few cities like NYC and SF. I realized this after living in both SF and Toronto. Furthermore cost of living and cost of post secondary education is significantly lower in Canada. Given all of these, for an average person, your net take home pay might be similar in both countries. Note: very generalized
Also we don’t have hefty health insurance premiums like y’all do. We pay more for phone bills (70-100/month) and auto insurance (180-400/month) though
Appreciate the education! Definitely will take everything in the mix. The pointers on QoL, education, and health premiums are definitely positives. I can understand the higher premiums. Guess I ll go work for Rogers to make up for the high cell phone cost ;)
67k
67k
What were your ratings? Also thanks for responses
1 / EP - but nearly everyone makes the same
You’re looking at 72k-77k as a S2. M1s start at 84k
Isn't that low by the US standards? Why is it so much lower? As a M1 in Risk Advisory, I made 99k in NYC and I know I was underpaid. Are the taxes lower that make up for the gap? I am trying to understand since I m likely to move as my wife accepted a new position there. Thanks, in advance, for sharing your perspective!
I’m referring to tax. Audit is slightly less in Toronto; advisory being slightly more
I know my managers (double promo from Senior 2 to Manager 1) are making around 92K in audit at KPMG. I was expressing near 70K as a high rated Senior 1 so 67K doesn’t seem too far off
Lol, thanks EY1. Clearly I need to do some homework. Appreciate y'all chiming in. I m at the very start of this journey so will educate myself.
ST1 - thanks for the clarification. SL helps set the context.
OP - good info! Thanks.
Haha. Taxes in Canada are way higher so maybe build that into your budget
