My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. Confused about long term capital gains tax rate - are the brackets for how much capital gains you make in a year, or are the buckets determined by income?

Hi All! Looking for some advice. I am a manager a country club but I do everything. I’m in charge of outside events and member events, in charge of the front of house staff, scheduling, ordering and membership sales for the club. I feel I am very underpaid at $45k. I do get commission but it’s very low ($10k give or take for the year). I work 6/7 days a week sometimes 10+ hrs/day. I’ve been researching salaries to be able to negotiate higher pay. I got rejected for an interview from Big 4 NY Audit, even had referrals from Manager + level people. 3 years w/ audit senior at mid size firm, 2 years fed tax at big 4, and 1.5 years Internal Audit healthcare. Currently self employed for a year to work on investing. Do I literally need a partner level referral to get back into Audit? I thought there was an accountant shortage.
