Anyone here make a huge career change in their late 20s or 30s? Thinking of making one and wanted to hear your stories.

Jump ship or stick it out? I’m a 31 y/o SFA with a Fortune 100 and am learning absolutely nothing. I have 9 years FP&A experience. All we get is busywork and no real opportunity to grow or take a more challenging role since they’re dying for SFAs. Do I stick it out for an eventual Manager role so I can be more marketable to a future employer, or try to pivot out of Finance to a new type of role and company now? Interested in more operations related work.

Has anyone transitioned from the Account Executive position to a Creative role? I'm and AE with UX experience and feeling like Design is more my vibe, but would appreciate any insight into the requirements and the demands of creative roles.

What makes you stay in public accounting? I like my boss and the teams I am on, but the hours are hard and i think I should look into private sometimes.

Newish to data analytics. Have some experience in power BI, sql, and R. I wanted to get some exposure to aws and saw the AWS cloud practitioner as an available course at my job. Is this cert worth it? Or should I try one of the more advanced ones ? The data analytics one for example but wasn’t sure if it would be difficult to get through as a beginner. Is there guidance/codification for departures from GAAP? Drafting a memo on some departures from GAAP (deminimus AP accruals, depreciation, etc.). I wanted some sort of authoritative literature to ref. Are noting the departed standards enough?

I started a company just under 1 year ago. We sell a product via ecom channels and have done ~100K in revenue with a 60% gross margin.

The first 6 months I was working a full time job. I quit my job to focus on the business full time, and have since depleted my readily available capital. I’m bootstrapping the business with my own funds. I was recently offered a job in my old industry for 80K per year. I was previously making 62K.

Should I take the job?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.

I have been giving a few interviews lately and every Company is asking me to confirm if i can get my NP reduced from 90 Days to 45 or 60 Days. I'm still under probation but assigned to a Project already. Should I ask my Account Manager and HR about it or its unethical to do so. I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read?
