Should I stay in FP&A (currently at pr agency) or go into product control at a big bank 🤔? For context I’m the lead finalist for a product control role.

My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?

Is the AWS CSA-A cert useless these days? I know at least 5 sales execs (non-technical of course) that got it this year and they’re not even in tech industry.

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. Replied that I often receive LinkedIn offers for roles of paycuts around 30-50% so I want to make sure we’re in the same rough range. Recruiter again said she would only share via live call. Our firm told everyone no bonuses this year due to the pandemic. However, people like myself with high utilization received a “bonus” in terms of a gift card. My director notified me of this, but the other day my boss was mentioning how no bonuses this year really sucks.
