Anyone have experience making a lateral move within your agency from one department to another, where there is some overlap in skills but different responsibilities? How did you bring this up to your boss? How did you prove you could excel in the new role when it’s not the same as your current role? If you tried to lateral and didn’t get the new role, was your relationship with your team soured?

When should you stop following up after a great interview? Was told I was too pricey for one market, so they asked me if I would consider another in the future. I said yes, and now it’s been a week.

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

Had my review (it was good) and manager says that they’ve put me up for promotion/raise saying that there’s no guarantee / not sure if it will get approved — wondering what that means? 🤔 (I’ve been at the company ~2 yrs without any raise/bonuses)
