Hey fellow dad. If I were you, I would take the babe to the doctor's office asap. If you say the baby has not been wanting to eat and it's getting worse, there may be something wrong going on that you're not seeing. Completely not your fault, but I think for the safety of the baby, you should see a doctor!
Appreciate your concern. I’m definitely planning a weight check soon
Maybe teething? If they accept cold food like fruit popsicles or cold applesauce it could be teething related. In those cases getting them to eat other food after their mouth is slightly numb from the cold food sometimes works
Heard a similar story from several parents, it’s like a switch and they would one day start eating stuff until then you need to keep trying 1) different kind of foods 2) we started giving sufficient gaps between meals and allowing the toddler to be active to build up appetite 3) give probiotics and prebiotics supplements/drops to help with any digestion/tummy issues to generate appetite
It’s still a battle every day, but we are trying to be patient and not get too worried, you are not alone
Exactly. They get bored so easily by the concept of eating which we can’t blame given how new they are to the world they want to explore everything around instead of lying down and trying to swallow stuff
My 2+ year old rarely eats. We’re over a year into trying all the tactics. He’s still putting on weight, no issues otherwise.
Take to the ped to make sure nothing is wrong, but otherwise don’t stress
Not like they’ll be 16 years old and still refusing food 😆 It’ll solve itself at some point
I have an 11 year old who is way underweight. We heard the same from docs oh don’t worry it’ll work itself out. Well it hasn’t. I wish we had taken this more seriously earlier. Now he’s in pt and ot and pysch to figure out what’s going on. I’m sure all will be fine. But I wish we had been more aggressive earlier.
