Anyone have insight or experience requesting reasonable accommodations from your firm during pregnancy?

My monthly billable requirement is 200. I am struggling to hit this during my first trimester (extreme fatigue and nausea) and would like to know if a reduction in my billable requirement would be considered a reasonable accommodation or if I’ll get laughed at by HR…

Also, my dr advised me not to take my adhd medication during pregnancy, which has also affected me during this season.

If your monthly billable requirement is 200, then I suspect the culture isn’t the best and they don’t care. However, they need to accommodate you. If they offer a reduction in your goal, I would anticipate a reduction in pay. I have needed to use this for non pregnancy, non adhd reasons.

Just wanted to say kudos to you, you’re doing an amazing job and I hope that you are able to find a reasonable resolution 🙏🏼🤍🫶🏼 honestly they should pay you more while reducing your hours

Our jobs are hard enough, let alone having that crazy billable requirement, then added on top of that, being neurodivergent and growing a human inside of your body in the mix (which prevents you from being able to medicate your ADHD) 😮‍💨🤞🏼 sending you a virtual hug and love!

200?? What kind of firm has a 2400 annual billable requirement outside of perhaps insurance defense (ID) or the sweatiest big law shops?

That is a crazy high number of monthly hours OP. I would definitely speak with HR and see what accommodations can be made because pregnancy is no joke. I remember being so fatigued the first trimester I could barely keep my eyes open.

Can anyone offer advice for helping with adderall side effects? I was diagnosed a few months ago and I am new to medication. I have been taking 20 mg xr in the morning but have a terrible crash around 2/3pm each day where I just get very very tired. Doctor recommended 10mg ir mid day to combat but I still experience pretty severe fatigue as a side effect. Just wondering if anyone has found any natural strategies to cope or mitigate. Thanks!

Does anyone have tips/methods for staying on top of all the little things? I’m in litigation and it’s a constant struggle to make sure I have accurate and up to date ‘bring ups’ and that I float anf rename all my emails and get all my time in and update my partner etc. like I can maybe get 1 or 2 but I’m never on top of everything and it’s so hard!

My partner now accepts and understands I am just going to have some organised chaos but also I want to make this little shit work for me!

Does anyone work in an area with lots of exterior environmental noise (traffic, concerts, trains, etc.) and have tips for not becoming overwhelmed and/or distracted by it? I’m finding that environmental noise has increased near my office now that tourism has picked back up in my city, and I’m struggling to block it out. I’ve tried earplugs but the noises tend to vibrate my office building so the earplugs don’t work well as an entire block.

I’m switching to Strattera (from Adderal XR) after some stories shared in this bowl, and some family members who have been really happy with it.

On my first full dose today and man the nausea is real. Understanding now why my doctor told me to split the dose into different parts of the day. Should have listened. 😅

There’s been some posts on the best planning tools (e.g. planners, calendars, etc.), but my question is how do ppl make sure they use them? I get them and am excited about the possibility of them helping for about a week then I just stop using it. Even if I find it helpful I just never stay consistent with it. Does this happen to others? Any tricks or suggestions to stay consistent using planners, to do lists, calendars, etc.

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.

New midlevel associate at a big law firm and still ramping up. I’m having a lot of trouble tackling small or discrete tasks that are either administrative in nature or otherwise because I don’t have a full plate and something to focus on.
