I currently work in hardware technical sales as a Senior Sales Engineer, OTE $110-120K with 1.5 YOE. Industrial automation equipment for a large player in the space. Software sales seems appealing due to remote work, more flexion, and higher pay comps.

Feeling so lost. One day it hit me hard that I don’t think the career path I’ve been in is right for me. It’s been gnawing at me ever since. Looking for a change, but don’t want to leave my company just for the sake of leaving, or just better pay. I want to know that my next move is a step that is going to take me places.

I feel utterly passionless which doesn’t help. And anything that sounds remotely interesting isn’t something I feel I can monetize.

I’ve been in my current role for less than a year and within my first 6 months multiple managers left as well as my hiring manager and multiple developers on a team I manage. I was kind of thrown to the wolves which is fine but recently another manager was just hired in the next pay grade who is walking into a much better position. We are exploring having a third party come in and assess our I&D efforts across our company. We have many locations across North America. Is anyone aware of an entity who does this? We have found questionnaires through target organizations and have done anonymous employee surveys but are hoping to find someone who can do an assessment for gender, minorities, disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+, etc. and provide feedback on the actual employee experience and where we may have blind spots.

We are starting to really address diversify and inclusion and build partnerships with community resources.
