Anyone join a large company, but slowly realized they are stuck at director? Ie there is no other titles above it because there is basically marketing VP or CMO as the top? Most of our industry peers have truly executive creative titles (CCO, ECD, VP creative). I know I should be happy I have a job, but at how many years as a CD do you consider a move? I’m at 3 at my current role, but get paid like a GCD agency side. I’ve been a CD almost 7 years total - but worried my title looks “stunted”.

If not what is the current industry standard. I keep seeing people posting 30+ LPA for data science roles with 3+ yoe.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. They are now asking me (currently ECD) to join and set up an agency-like creative team to up-level everything from brand to sales materials. It's a good mgmt opp and good creative is a definite possibility, but I'm conflicted. Aency BS would be nice to step away from, but I think I'm still bought into the notion that agencies are superior and in-house is where washed-up creatives go to die.
