Can folks from PwC share how exactly your all remote model works? So, an employee opting for remote works with any team across time zones ? Or across states in same time zone? Also, how do you staff on / find a project? Are there people working totally with teams outside their office, as say nobody or few in their own group/ office opted for remote model? Would that be true?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Four weeks of onboarding…? What firm do you work for? It seems silly to lay someone off after three months. Utilization matters at every firm, particularly at more junior levels, but don’t get too stressed out yet

Technical consulting firm. They have us shadow for the first 4 weeks and plus I started in December.
You are new. It won't matter
I would consider finding a new advisor because it kind of sounds like bs. I think most places give you at least 6 months of ramp up time unless the company is struggling and just looking for excuses to let people go. In the meantime, if possible, start to shop around for a different client as well because this one sounds like they may not be very serious about the project.

Utilization is the primary metric for staff below Director/Senior Manager. As a new employee I would be very concerned about sitting on the bench more than a couple weeks at most
Recommend you start networking, asking your PML (Supervisor), D/SMs, and resource managers about getting staffed on any engagement since the one you're supposedly waiting for isnt starting.
Worst case youre double booked and Utilization quickly returns to normal levels.
OP, I’m not sure K1’s firm works that way either. Relax. It will work out.
1. As a new associate, it does not matter as much when your project is delayed.
2. However, it is strange that you are only on one project.
3. Most junior associates will associate themselves with several projects
4. Network hard, volunteer yourself in new ccas (eg organize parties, be a MC of company event etc), get people to know you, contribute
