Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Has anyone left PwC while they still had an outstanding Educational Support Program repayment agreement? What is the repayment process like? Am I required to pay back the amount in full the day I leave the firm or is there the ability to do a repayment agreement? I’m looking at new opportunities and would like to have my new firm take on the amount of the tuition agreement ($14,000) but don’t know how much that might limit my options.

Lived in AZ for 2 years. Can confirm it’s stupid cheap to live there.
Can confirm that is about on par for DR 1 pay.... Really good would be 170s.... 155 in AZ should go twice as far as 170 in NYC
Yea, 155k in AZ will go far. What part of AZ? Assuming Phoenix or Tuscon, maybe Mesa. Just be prepared for stupid hot Summers.
I live in AZ. It’s stupid cheap to live here. COL adjustment from NYC to Tucson was -26.7%.
Also: here’s the reality regarding the heat. In the north east from December through February you don’t want to go outside. In the southwest from July through September you don’t want to go outside. But you never have to shovel the heat.
So low and I should take an offer of 170k in NY instead
170k for big 4 director in NYC in any practice is also too low.
That's shit
Sounds like a solid offer.
Interesting...
I don’t live in AZ but I’d assume the tax advantage alone would be overcompensating??
Unless you really like NY
NYC is crazy expensive. You would be surprised how fast 170k goes away due to really high taxes, rent , col. whereas you will be able to save much more of your income in AZ.
