Love slack. 10x Better than Teams functionality wise, although not directly integrated with Microsoft Office.
Your client can harass you in fun new ways
Yea Slack is better. The UI is just smoother.
Slack’s very good, but it has three big flaws in my opinion:
- Mobile app setup can be tricky depending on your organization’s rules
- Inviting clients to collaborate is complicated
- Senior team hardly ever uses it
I suppose it depends a lot on how it’s set up
You can play chess in it
It is easily by and far better than any other collaboration tool. It’s integration and partner app development is also light years ahead anything else.
As companies gravitate towards Google and other third party productivity apps, it’s going to become more and more valuable.
I have used Teams, Sharepoint, Skype, Lync, Google Hangouts, even FB messenger it blows everything out of the water.
It does integrate with Office products. Just not really well and not as easily as MS Teams. the real time editing in Teams is pretty fantastic. And I’m a long time Slack user.
In terms of online discussions and decision making - Slack can’t be beat. It is literally like having a conversation with a team online. Has cut my email and meetings by 50%

No integration with MS Office is a no from me. Teams is not perfect but as a purple version of Skype, it does the job.
The problem I have with Slack is if someone sent me something 3 weeks ago and I want look at again it becomes a long search thru 20 or 30 possiable channels/workspaces. In the old world I searched for an email from them or a text.

Used G suite at our last firm and it was great. Integrated w G drive, Jira, Mural—essentially our entire tech stack.
