Newbie to investing and never invested in a company that went through a reverse stock split.
In theory, I understand the market value should increase but I’m not seeing this reflected in the price and naturally my book value/ share is very disappointing.
A) When should I anticipate the stock appreciation to occur?
B) What’s the next move for companies that do this? Issue more shares?
TIA!

Very few flights I take qualify for SWU usage. It’s really only beneficial for people who fly off peak hours or book super far in advance
It’s worth Exec plat for other reasons in my book. That award cancellation fee waiver has saved me hundreds since I book award flights all the time and end up cancelling them. But I couldn’t even give away my SWU last year because a lot of fares didn’t qualify. Also, sometimes the SWU could only be guaranteed for a small leg up front, for example LGA-DFW-HNL would only guarantee the upgrade for LGA-DFW
I've mileage run at the end of the year the last two years and will likely need to this year to keep EXP status for next. I've used all my SWU the last 4 years without issue, usually just depends on flights - I make sure to book flights that Im more likely to get then not - Most to european cities and a couple to asia. SWU also now with EQS doesnt matter when you book its really about status and then EQS for the last twelve months. Mileage run has been worth it for me because I've found cheap tickets, turned it into a long weekend and reap the benefits for the following year. Honestly just depends on your strategy to whether or not its worth it.
I also struggle to use SWU. However I did a mileage run couple years back to push me to EP, and if for nothing else, the priority treatment to rebook flights due to delays / cancellations has saved my ass any number of times. Well worth it, even if upgrades only come when traveling for leisure (off-peak domestic)
As an EP for the past 2 years , I’d say it’s highly worth it. I have used my SWU last year for myself and my buddy going to London from JFK. My ticket going there cleared like 2-3 days before and my return I decided to ask the day before and it cleared as well right away. I think when ppl say they don’t use it, it’s more like it wouldn’t make sense to use it on a 4 hr flight when you could use it for a really long trip. Some international trips offer use of SWU when booking so just do your research when logged in . Also other areas they excel as well and provide great care
I think so. I found a round trip for $150 that pushed me over the edge by <100 miles. Being upgraded on nearly every flight for a year was well worth the 2 hours and cash. I would even do it if it meant a weekend trip to APAC.
It depends on your annual spend though. I had a couple of $8k+ tickets and my weekly spend was >$750 so I had a huge spend amount to push me up the upgrade list. If your flights have been cheap or you fly on RJs, probably not worth it. I’ve never been able to use the systemwides, so I don’t even consider those in my thought process
Why haven't you been able to use the system wide upgrade please?
EY nailed it
Has anyone been able to use a SWU?
A friend of mine who works at Google uses his. Typically Tuesday and Wednesday late morning flights.
I have. Just not enough for it to really be a factor.
They really only have value for international flights. Domestic flights you’ll usually get upgraded anyway unless it’s a major consulting route. Even then I did a pretty good job of getting upgraded most weeks.
Another factor to consider, you can’t use SWU on miles redemption tickets. Which, is exactly how I purchase my international travel so essentially the SWUs are useless for me. Only exception then is domestic transcon, but I’m always on sold out business flights. Welp
That’s the thing I don’t get. You have people willing to pay like $200 for an SWU and I can’t even figure out how to get rid of them
