New in town, where do I go to meet people (for friends and dating)?

I’ve only slept with one person, my wife. I have not openly shared this with anyone because there’s a stigma that I “settled” or I don’t have numbers on the board like a man should. I’m not overly religious, so that was never a driver in the equation. I admit, I do think about the “what if” every once in awhile but I’m honestly getting to the age where I feel I’m beyond my prime anyhow.

If you aren’t straight, was there a public figure that made you realize this? My first memorable girl crush was Nigella Lawson, a British celebrity chef nearly twice my age.

He then texts me and says something along the lines of “yeah let’s do it” but doesn’t offer any concrete plan. Does this mean he’s not super into it?
