As a new grad interested in becoming a consultant at Oracle, what skills, education background and previous experience are most important? Would I not be competitive if I don’t have much experience in tech/coding?

International tax manager with 7 years experience all at KPMG. Thinking about switching to industry to see it from a new perspective and do similar work from a different angle. How do you successfully transfer B4 skills/experience to industry (how do you find the right fit?), and how do you continue to learn and build your skills so that you’re still marketable and could boomerang back if it doesn’t work out in a few years? Am I asking too much?

Hello everyone! I am looking for advice. I am a C&B Team lead ( about 15 years of experience) but all my experience was in Russia. Now I got married and moved to UK , plus we have got a baby in 2019 so now I am looking for a job in UK having 3 years of career break. Although, I am getting CIPD lvl 7 diploma this year. Does anyone feel that the Oil and Gas industry is the most discriminatory industry of all? They won’t even look at resume without O&G experience! It does not make sense to me as I would rather teach someone the specifics of an industry if they were a good fit. And for an industry that has so many obstacles from Government, Environmental Organizations and so on, why they are adding more bad publicity to themselves is not a great approach.

Genuinely curious, do people actually enjoy working in the Oracle EPM system? Been working in it for 2 years and it’s miserable. I can’t imagine anyone waking up and looking forward to implementing that system, but that could just be me.
