Associate Consultant here with 2 years of experience (industry & consulting), undergrad in Engineering, no masters degree (yet). Currently at a Tier 2 firm that do not sponsor H-1B visas for internationals, despite the good work I’m doing for the firm I need to find another employer. I’m aware that MBB sponsors H-1B at all levels, but big 4 do not sponsor entry-level positions. Do you know any other consulting firms that offer sponsorship? Also, do you consider having a master degree is a must?

I’m in my 2nd year in audit. I want to pivot into management consulting within a big 4 or MBB. Has anyone seen someone make this lateral movement? I’m not sure how feasible that is and what steps to take. I’m also down to discuss further with whoever is comfortable in connecting.

Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). Had an interview today, for RN OnCall position. This is an extremely difficult position, but I bring not only a preference to work the hours they need but the experience and credentials to qualify for the upper range of the salary (RN, MSN, CHPN, 5 years hospice experience). I asked for the range and he gave the range then immediately stated that I would qualify for mid range. My goal is to find a similar position to the one I’m working now and add 20-30% to my income, the high range would meet

Does anyone else struggle with billing? I find myself working 12+ hour days and yet my actual hours are pretty modest. Seems like I’m losing most of my time on correspondence because I’ll forget to start a timer when I read/respond to emails.

Does anyone freeze with deadlines, and if so what works for you? Whenever I have a deadline my brain freezes and refuses to work. It used to be that my brain worked overtime right before a deadline - now it refuses to work until after a deadline. I think this is because all of my deadlines are internal and I’ve never had a partner look at anything immediately after a deadline.
