Bain Manager to PE (EQT, Cinven, Permira etc.) VC team-> how common is this? What level / salary can someone expect if they do make the transition?

My company is paying for one credit card. I'm leaning towards Amex Platinum given the large 100k sign up bonus at the moment (which I'll be able to hit). People lean towards CSR because of the 3x on dining but I don't eat out that much (and additional perks, but I prefer the Amex for that).
