Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

$350 is spot on for the average price of a second hand Aeron. I bought mine for $300 on Facebook marketplace as well and the range was between $300-$400 of all the ones I saw advertised.

I had those chairs at work for years and they’re usually 3x+. They do break surprisingly fast, though, but it’s all the unnecessary bits. The main char lasts decades. Check what year it’s from, as it may only be worth $350 and be less than ideal condition.
Hermen millers are nice but pricy. That’s how much I paid for a brand new knock off. I’d say go for it 🤷♂️

OP - yes, that is a good deal for the Aeron. If any parts need replacement, you can order from HM directly. They are relatively easy to install.

i bought mine used and the armrests won’t stay in position - the wheel that locks them in position is extremely difficult to turn. apparently it’s a common problem, but requires a bit of effort to fix, so i haven’t bothered 😕

I bought a refurbished one (different model) from amazon and it’s awesome! It was more like $550 and is fully adjustable but I priced a new one and it oils have been $900 so maybe also check amazon?
