Houston downtown JW vs Westin.. Thoughts?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I don’t honestly know but I wouldn’t offer up additional information if not asked or prompted. I’m sure you can come up with a much less controversial response to that question. Keep it as straight and narrow, professional as possible.
IMHO, it is a bad idea. While nobody would say it out loud, you are creating a negative bias with many (not all) people.
Uh yeah would pass on bringing this up - might be a flag for potential relapse or something
Personally, I'd not bring in personal struggles into the picture. Even without specifically mentioning the vice, it let's the interviewers mind go places.
I'd much rather look at the motivation of the question and try to attack that instead of giving my take on "obstacles"
What kind of obstacles could a person holding this job face? Have I faced and overcame similar if not worse obstacles?
Agree with everyone here. I think most interviewers expect responses to “professional obstacles” in these cases
Stick to innocuous work related obstacles - like meeting an unrealistic deadline or working with a tough client. Not serious personal obstacles. You don’t know anything about the interviewers’ opinions on that kind of situation and it may not be the type of response they’re looking for.
Thanks all! Will NOT bring this up.
Think about what the people competing with you will say. Think about whether you would bring this up to a client
Rising Star
Definite no.
Chief
No, it's not work-related.
Yeah if someone said this to me, I’d think that they have no idea what’s workplace appropriate or not. If you’re volunteering that to me, who knows what you might volunteer to a client.
Hard no
Yeah OP I can relate that it is probably a fantastic story and shows a lot of great characteristics. But as everyone said the potential downside risk greatly outweighs the return here.
Please talk about professional obstacles only! Without knowing you, it would be hard to judge someone positively on that - I’m sorry. Proud of you overcoming your addiction tho! Just don’t bring it up in an interview.
