I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

I have a law degree and left my cushy law firm job to do BA because of the hours. I think that it helps in terms of teaching me how to read contracts and the critical thinking....but absolutely not necessary. If I were to do it again, I don’t think it was worth it and I FINALLY paid off my student loans last year after 13 years. I’m inactive in my home state because I didn’t think it was worth it to pay the additional bar dues and all the CLEs to maintain my status. That said I do have another teammate who has a legal degree who I think is a stronger critical thinker than the non legal one, but I think it’s more of personality than the fact that the legal degree makes a huge difference because I know some great BA people who don’t have legal degrees.
If you want to pivot to work for content studios then a JD is a necessity. For advertising, save your money.
Im not a BM but have a related grad degree and tons of friends in tv/film. In tv/broadcast for example, so many BM’s have law degrees. The only grad degree I’ve seen in advertising BA is an MBA or accounting. Obviously that’s not everyone but still.
